I've found nbconvert (which I think the package you mention in the article uses) pretty difficult to setup, given that it depends on pandoc, LaTeX, etc. You may wanna try https://www.convert.ploomber.io as well :) it uses nbconvert under the hood and has an option to hide the code. I'd appreciate your feedback!
